MT5 to Telegram Setup Guide

Follow these steps to set up MT5 to Telegram Notifications service

1. Requirements

What You'll Need

  • MetaTrader 5 platform installed
  • A Telegram account
  • TV2Broker MT5 to Telegram Expert Advisor
  • Internet connection for both MT5 and Telegram

2. MetaTrader 5 Setup

Download and Install MetaTrader 5

If you don't already have MetaTrader 5 installed, download it from your broker's website or from the official MetaQuotes website.

Note:

Make sure you have a live or demo account set up with your broker in MT5 before proceeding.

3. Expert Advisor Installation

Step 1: Download the MT5 to Telegram EA

Download the Expert Advisor file from our website:

Step 2: Open MT5 Data Folder

In MetaTrader 5, click on "File" > "Open Data Folder" to open the MT5 directory.

Step 3: Navigate to MQL5/Experts

Open the MQL5 folder, then open the Experts folder.

Step 4: Copy the EA File

Copy the MT5 to Telegram EA file (.ex5) into the Experts folder.

Step 5: Restart MetaTrader 5

Close and reopen MetaTrader 5 to refresh the list of Expert Advisors.

4. Telegram Bot Setup

Setting Up Telegram Integration

Follow these steps to connect your MT5 to Telegram:

  1. Go to your Profile Page
  2. In the Telegram Integration section, enter your Telegram username
  3. Click the "Save" button to save your username
  4. Click the "Start Chat with Bot" button to initiate the connection
  5. A new chat will open with our Telegram bot

Final Step: Attach EA to Chart

After setting up your Telegram integration:

  1. Open MetaTrader 5
  2. Open any chart (the currency pair doesn't matter)
  3. Drag and drop the MT5 to Telegram EA onto the chart
  4. When prompted, enter your license key and click OK
  5. Click the "AutoTrading" button in the top toolbar of MT5 to enable automated trading
  6. The EA is now running and will send notifications to your Telegram

5. Testing Your Setup

Verify the Connection

To test if everything is working correctly:

  1. Make sure the EA is attached to a chart and AutoTrading is enabled
  2. Place a small test trade in MT5
  3. Check your Telegram for a notification about the new trade
  4. Close the test trade and verify you receive a closing notification
Troubleshooting:

If you don't receive notifications:

  • Check that your Bot API Token and Chat ID are entered correctly
  • Ensure your internet connection is stable
  • Verify that the EA is running (should show a smiley face in the top-right corner of the chart)
  • Check the "Experts" tab in MT5 for any error messages
